I was able to build my own RGB Led strip controller thanks to this guide. First I sketched the frame of the bed into Fusion 360 to be able to design the new headrest.

Then I modeled the extension to the bed in order to know how much and in what dimensions I needed to cut the wood. I added a gab to the top wood plank in oder to insert the led strip there and to put some opace plexiglass on top of it to diffuse the light.

The end result is an awesome nightlight that I can controll via wifi.
